But the system can actually support up to 33 feet — that's where this 39.5-inch extension strip comes in. You can add up to eight of these extensions (sold individually) to create an incredible light show. Easy to install and control This add-on strip gets its power and network connection directly from your existing Hue base kit so it's pretty much plug and play. One note: this extension only works with the new Bluetooth-capable fourth-generation Lightstrip Plus. If you have an older light strip base kit, this extension will not be compatible. The Philips Hue mobile app lets you choose from all sorts of presets. You can also save your own favorite light formulas with your choice of 16 million colors and loads of cool to warm shades of white. Alexa, turn on my backlighting This system works with most of the major voice assistants, too, so you can control it hands-free whether you use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
